South Bruce Grey Health Centre’s Walkerton site will be a satellite location for a Personal Support Worker (PSW) course being held by Georgian College this Fall. The course will be offered on a part-time basis and delivered by video-conference to SBGHC’s Walkerton site, the Huron East Health Center in Seaforth and the Bluewater Rest Home in Zurich.

SBGHC’s involvement in the program is the result of an ongoing partnership with HealthKick, a committee established in 2005 to address health care human resources issues in rural communities. “We commend the work that HealthKick is doing to bring education opportunities into our communities, and are happy to be able to utilize our resources to facilitate this process,” says Brenda Rantz, Vice President of Corporate Development and Labour Relations for SBGHC and HealthKick committee member.

A public information session will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at SBGHC’s Walkerton site and the Huron East Health Center beginning at 7:00 PM.
