Executive Compensation

SBGHC is committed to transparency and accountability. As such, we have proactively disclosed the contracts and letters of agreement for our Executive Team. A summary is outlined below.

Total Compensation

The President & CEO’s compensation is determined by the Board of Directors based on the OHA Executive Salary Survey, and is consistent with the recently released Independent Expert Panel on Executive Compensation in the Hospital Sector (click here). The compensation of the departmental Vice Presidents is determined by the President & CEO, and is also based on the OHA Executive Salary Survey.

Vice President, Corporate Services $110,070.92
Vice President, Corporate Development & Labour Relations    $108,205.50
Vice President, Finance $60.00/hour

 *SBGHC’s Vice President of Finance position is part time and has been filled by an independent contractor (paid hourly with no vacation entitlement, pension or employee benefits).

Compensation at Risk

In accordance with The Excellent Care for All Act, 2010, a portion of our Executive Team compensation is placed at risk based on achieving improvement targets set out in our annual Quality Improvement Plan (click here).

Pension

The Executive Team is entitled to participate in the Hospitals of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP), as are all full time and eligible part time staff members.

Insured Benefits

The Executive Team is entitled to participate in SBGHC’s group benefit plan, as are all full time staff members.

Expenses

Members of the Executive Team are reimbursed for all reasonable expenses incurred while carrying out their respective duties. All expenses reimbursed are in accordance with SBGHC’s Expense Reimbursement Policy (click here). Executive and Board Member expenses are posted on our website semi-annually (click here). As SBGHC is a multi-site organization, an auto allowance is provided to the President & CEO for local travel between hospital sites ($950.00/month).

Severance

Severance is provided upon termination without cause.

Parking

The Executive Team pays for parking bi-weekly through payroll deduction, as is required of all staff members who wish to park on hospital premises.

SERP’s, RRSP Contributions, Mortgage Assistance, Club Memberships

No additional financial assistance or allowances are provided.
