- Gain valuable work experience to help build a resumé for post secondary programs as well as future employment
SBGHC offers a unique, well rounded approach in which Co-op students and staff members work together to ensure all participants gain maximum benefit from the program.
Each co-op placement will experience the following areas along with their discipline:
- Housekeeping
- Volunteer Services
Rotation options include:
- Administration Rotation: Health Records, Human Resources, Registration, Finance, Health and Safety
- Allied Health Rotation: Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and Respiratory Therapy
- Nutritional Rotation: Food Services-Dietary aide, Institutional cooking, Consulting Dietitian
- Facilities Rotation: Electrical, General maintenance, Plumbing
- Nursing Rotation: ER, Med/Surg, Birthing
Requirements:
- Completion of grade 11 required
- Administration Rotation: computer skills, good interpersonal skills and communication skills
- Allied Health Rotation: Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Math
- Nutritional Rotation: Some food service experience would be an asset
- Facilities Rotation: Interest in the area
- Nursing Rotation: Biology and Chemistry
