As part of the infrastructure renewal project at South Bruce Grey Health Centre’s Kincardine site, the organization is preparing for a one-hour power interruption on Monday, November 13 in order to connect the facility’s new generator system.

Beginning at 1:00 PM on November 13, the power to the building will be completely shut-down, with essential equipment running on generators. Patients are encouraged not to present to the hospital during this period of time, unless in the event of a critical emergency.

As Remembrance Day is being observed at South Bruce Grey Health Centre on November 13, Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging Services will be closed to outpatients on this day, which will lessen the impact.

“We are nearing the end of this project, with just a few more hurdles to clear,” explains Paul Rosebush, President and CEO. “We greatly appreciate the patience of our community, and our staff, as we have worked to update the aging infrastructure in this building to ensure that we will be able to continue to deliver high quality health care in Kincardine for years to come.”

The replacement of the facility’s boiler system, chiller and generators is expected to be complete in December 2017.
