After six positive years at the helm of South Bruce Grey Health Centre (SBGHC), President and CEO Paul Rosebush has tendered his resignation to pursue a career opportunity in Toronto as the CEO for a prominent social services agency.

 

“Paul has committed considerable energy and enthusiasm over his tenure at SBGHC promoting the sustainability of the organization and improving the overall patient experience,” says SBGHC Board Chair, Larry Allison. “He will be sorely missed by the staff and physicians, the members of the Board of Directors and all those in the communities he served so well.”

 

Among his accomplishments was having SBGHC become the first hospital to have its funding formula adjusted by the province to reflect its rural multi-site nature, and by doing so stabilized its fiscal position. Paul has also significantly advanced the redevelopment of the Kincardine hospital, with a revamped project now on firm footing to proceed to construction in 2021-2022.

 

Paul was a champion for the introduction of Health Links in Grey and Bruce Counties, and led various regional committees to advance rural health interests with the Ministry of Health and the Government.

 

“It has been an honour for me to have been a part of the SBGHC family,” says Paul Rosebush. “I am very proud of the entire SBGHC team and our collective work to improve health care in each of our communities. Everyone from the Board to our front-line teams worked hard to ensure that our hospitals were sustainable and well equipped, that we put patients first and that we were responsive to the feedback and interests of all four of our communities. SBGHC has a positive future to look forward to and is well positioned to remain a leading rural health centre in Ontario and to address any challenges moving forward.”

“In addition to his many accomplishments external to the organization, the well-being of the SBGHC staff team was very important to Paul,” explains Allison. “Under his leadership, the organization developed an open, transparent and respectful culture that we intend to carry forward as we recruit a new leader.”

 

Paul will depart from his current role toward the end of August. In the meantime, the Board of Directors will strike a search committee and move forward to fill the vacancy in a timely manner.

 

“The organization is in a very strong position and will be able to continue to meet the needs of our patients as we move forward,” says Allison. “On behalf the Board, I thank Paul for his dedication and efforts at SBGHC and wish him well as he advances his career.”
