South Bruce Grey Health Centre (SBGHC) is a dynamic, multi-site health care organization serving four rural communities in southern Grey and Bruce Counties.
SBGHC serves a community of approximately 44,000 people, plus 10,000 seasonal residents and 30,000 tourists across our four hospital sites located in Chesley, Durham, Kincardine and Walkerton. Our staff of close to 400 people provide high quality care in a friendly and safe environment.
Each of our hospital sites offer acute care services, a 24-7 emergency department*, and a full complement of diagnostic and laboratory services.
Chesley Site: 18 beds (8 Acute, 10 Seniors Centre of Care)
Durham Site: 10 beds
Kincardine Site: 17 beds
Walkerton Site: 21 beds (15 Acute, 6 Obstetric)
*In September 2019 the Emergency Department (ED) at the Chesley hospital moved to reduced operating hours due to a nursing staff shortage. The Chesley ED is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
*In December 2021 the Emergency Department (ED) at the Walkerton hospital moved to reduced operating hours due to a nursing staff shortage. The Walkerton ED is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
