Beginning on Monday, July 15, community outpatient laboratory testing at South Bruce Grey Health Centre’s Chesley, Durham and Walkerton sites will transition to Dynacare.

The locations for outpatient collections will remain in the hospital, in the same locations in Chesley and Walkerton, and will be relocated in Durham next to Patient Registration.

Community Lab Collections for the Kincardine hospital have been relocated to the Hawthorne Community Clinic as of March 28, 2019 (on the same property as the hospital).

*Note: standing orders are not kept on file.  Please bring a copy of your requisition and your health card.

Where do I register for my laboratory work?

You do not need to register to have your samples collected.  Please proceed directly to the Community Lab Collections room unless you have a blue requisition for same day processing.

Same Day Processing

SBGHC will continue to provide same day processing for select tests on urgent patients (e.g. oncology, blood thinning medications), prenatal patients, neonates, pediatric patients <1 year of age and patients undertaking the oral 2 hour glucose challenge. Your physician will provide you with a blue requisition form. Please bring this requisition to Patient Registration at the hospital to have your same-day lab work completed.

The hours of operation for Community Laboratory Collections are:

Chesley – 8:00 AM-1:30 PM Monday to Friday

Durham – 8:00 AM-2:30 PM Monday to Friday

Walkerton – 8:00 AM-2:30 PM Monday to Friday

Kincardine - 7:30 AM-3:30 PM Monday to Friday
