In response to COVID-19, the following service changes will be implemented at South Bruce Grey Health Centre this week to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.

 

Service Interruptions

Community Laboratory Collections (updated March 17)

 

Chesley:

  • Effective Monday, March 16, Community Laboratory Collections at the Chesley site will be temporarily suspended. Community laboratory collections can be accessed at the Walkerton site between the hours of 8:00 AM-12:00 PM.

 

Kincardine:

  • Effective Tuesday, March 17, Community Laboratory Collections at the Kincardine Family Health Team will be temporarily changed to 8:00 AM-12:00 PM. 

 

Walkerton:

  • Effective Tuesday, March 17, Community Laboratory Collections at the Walkerton site will be moving from its current location to the first floor of the Walkerton hospital (ambulatory care). Hours of operation will be changed to 8:00 AM-12:00 PM.

 

Durham:

  • Effective Wednesday, March 18, the hours of operation for Community Laboratory Collections at the Durham site will be temporarily changed to 8:00 AM-12:00 PM. 

Outpatient Physiotherapy services will be suspended as of March 17, 2020.

 

Diagnostic Imaging / Cardiorespiratory

  • Effective March 17, all non-essential/elective medical imaging and cardiorespiratory examinations are being cancelled.  Staff will be calling to notify patients, and communication of deferral will be sent to ordering physicians.

 

Please check this information regularly for updates as the hospital continues to work through pandemic planning.

Visiting Restrictions

New visitor restrictions now in place at all SBGHC sites. 

 

All non-essential visitors are being asked to refrain from visiting the hospital. If a patient requires support, the following restrictions will be in place:

  • Emergency department - 1 visitor only if absolutely necessary
  • Obstetrics - 1 visitor only who will remain for the duration of the patient stay.
  • Inpatient - 1 visitor only if absolutely necessary 

 

All visitors will be screened for illness and travel prior to entry to the hospital.

 

All SBGHC staff and physicians will be screened upon entry to the hospital.  Anyone who has travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days will be asked to self-isolate and monitor for symptoms.
