Frequently Asked Questions:

How long will I have to wait?

  • SBGHC is proud to have very short wait times compared to the provincial average.

  • Your wait time may vary depending on the level of activity in the department.
  • We encourage you to ask the nurse the approximate wait time.

Is there a doctor on site?

  • Whether the physician is present on site is based on the annual number of patients seen.

  • While our Kincardine site has a doctor on site 24/7; Walkerton, Durham and Chesley have a doctor available 24/7 but they may not be physically in the building.
  • Nursing staff notify the physician as soon as you arrive in the Emergency Department. Based on your triage level, the physician has a designated amount of time to respond.
