SBGHC Beginning Strategic Planning Exercise for 2021-2025
South Bruce Grey Health Centre (SBGHC) is embarking on the process to update its Strategic Plan. Once finalized and approved by the Board of Directors, the Strategic Plan will articulate the hospital’s mission, vision and values, along with the strategic directions for the next five years.
“Our five-year plan will build on the key accomplishments from our 2017-2020 Strategic Plan, and set directions that will help shape the future of health care in the southern part of Bruce and Grey Counties,” explains John Gilbert, SBGHC Board Chair.
The community may ask why SBGHC would be embarking on this process now, in the middle of the COVID pandemic. Although SBGHC’s ongoing response to COVID continues to consume a considerable amount of time and resources, it is imperative that the hospital knows where it is headed, and does not lose sight of longer-term goals.
“Our current Strategic Plan expires at the end of 2020, and we want to ensure that the future directions of SBGHC are clearly identified,” explains Michael Barrett, SBGHC President & CEO. “Engaging with our staff, physicians, patients, families and community stakeholders is a key part of the process to ensure that our plan is reflective of the needs of our communities and the people we serve.”
SBGHC is looking to its staff, physicians, patients, families and community stakeholders to join in these conversations to help shape the future of the hospital. An online survey is now available (see link below), which also gives an opportunity for individuals to identify their interest in participating in a virtual focus group to be held later this fall.
The survey will remain open until November 1, 2020.
