South Bruce Grey Health Centre, with sites in Chesley, Durham, Walkerton and Kincardine, serves a catchment area consisting of approximately 44,000 residents with an additional 10,000 seasonal residents and 30,000 tourists who visit the area each year. The Health Centre employs approximately 400 people across the four sites, which cumulatively have 60 patient beds.

South Bruce Grey Health Centre is committed to providing engaging and educational placement opportunities for post-secondary students. Students and staff members work together to ensure all participants gain maximum benefit from the program.

South Bruce Grey Health Centre is please to host student placements in the following departments:

  • Diagnostic Imaging
  • Health Records
  • Laboratory
  • Nursing
  • Pharmacy
  • Physiotherapy

Please note that paid co-op positions are not available at SBGHC at this time.

Application Process:

  • Have your Program Placement Coordinator submit a placement request to the Volunteer & Human Resources Coordinator, indicating program, placement/praxis requirements and preferred site 

Requirements:

  • Students must meet the educational requirements of their College/University to be eligible for placement or praxis
  • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen
  • Completion of a Health Review (Includes an N95 mask fit test, tuberculosis test and any appropriate laboratory tests or immunizations that may be necessary to be in hospital)
  • Review or complete and return all documents, policies and procedures in the Student Welcome Package
  • Completion of all Corporate Orientation and Training modules on the SBGHC LMS
