PREPARING FOR YOUR VISIT
- Pack your hospital bag.
- Know the signs of labour and when to call for help.
- Helpful resources:
- Bring Extended Health Benefits Insurance card.
The Family Birthing Center has 6 private patient rooms. Ontario Provincial Health Insurance (OHIP) provides basic Ward Coverage when you are admitted to the Family Birthing Center. Many patients have coverage for semi-private and private rooms through their extended health benefits and the hospital can bill for this additional coverage. Please check your insurance policy coverage carefully to know what coverage you have. If you have OHIP but do not have extended health benefits you will not be charged anything for your hospital stay.
