South Bruce Grey Health Centre’s Laboratory Department plays a critical role in diagnosing, treating, and monitoring patients. Our team of highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologists, Technicians and Phlebotomists collect and perform tests on samples such as blood, urine, tissue, and other body fluids to provide physicians with accurate information about a patient’s health.

SBGHC utilizes a hybrid model to ensure patients have access to both urgent and specialized testing:
- In-House Testing: 24/7 coverage to ensure rapid results for emergency and acute care patients
- InterHospital Laboratory Partnership (IHLP): In 2022, SBGHC joined the IHLP to ensure best use of resources, leveraging our partnership to standardize equipment and policies and ensuring access to personnel expertise. Within this partnership, SBGHC Laboratories refer out testing outside of our menu, as needed. ihlp.ca
